Nachmann Josef

Information we have from family members indicates that Nachmann Josef was born in 1850 and that Croyna was born in 1851. Of course, there is no official documentation to support that. It is also thought that Khana was born in 1872. However, it is my feeling that those dates are inaccurate for a couple of reasons: First, the next child born after Khana was Ralph in 1884. We know that as a fact. It seems unlikely that there would be such a gap between the birth of the two, especially since the other births came in succession. Also, we know that the youngest child, Rose, was born in 1901, when Croyna (if she were born in 1851) would have been 50 years old.

My guess is that Nachmann Josef and Croyna were born around 1860. Khana was probably born in 1882.

Khana

Information about Khana is mostly from oral history. Boguslavsky cousins who fled the USSR in the 1990's gave us this family tree diagram of her family. There appear to be some errors with dates, but it is otherwise accurate. Media:Khana_Boguslavsky.jpg

The cousins told us that her family was planning to flee from the Nazis and travel to Tashkent in Uzbekistan, but Khana refused to leave, saying that she was old and would be a burden to them. The family fled and Khana Boguslavsky Gershovich remained in Dnepropetrovsk.

At present we have no information about whether this branch of the family emigrated to Israel from Tashkent.
