In a May, 1992 letter to Carol Wolff (which she forwarded to her cousins in the U.S.), Marc (Mayor) wrote of the family's plan to go to Israel. Their life in Uzbekistan, he wrote, "is very routine. I work as an engineer in the field of gas-use in homes and industry. Lilli [his wife] is a teacher of English. [Their son] Leonid works at the plant. [Their son] Felix is a student at the technical university." | |||

In 1988, Pauline corresponded with Rose in Tashkent and shared at least one letter from Rose with the family in the U.S. I wrote to Rose as well, including news and photos of the family from Andrew Silver's bar mitzvah the year before.
