This 2005 email from Carol Wolff leads us to believe that her family was planning to flee from the Nazis and travel to Tashkent in Uzbekistan, but Khana refused to leave. The family fled and Khana Boguslavsky Gershovich remained in Dnepropetrovsk. Records from Yad V'Shem indicate that her husband, Yudel, remained with her and was murdered in Dnepropetrovsk as well.
